Thomas Scott is one of the founding members of Basham & Scott, LLC representing fortune 500 companies with their insurance subrogation and rental car claims. Thomas is a member of the Maine Trial Lawyers Association and became a Certified Subrogation Recovery Professional in 2004, the exam’s debut year. Prior to Basham & Scott, LLC, Thomas was a shareholder at Spain, Hastings, & Ward and worked for several other firms in Houston, TX focusing on commercial litigation, premises liability, toxic torts, and product liability. Thomas graduated from South Texas College of Law where he was the Vice President of The Environmental Law Society, received the dean’s list award, won several mock trial competitions and was awarded “Outstanding Participant” in a national moot court competition. Thomas also volunteered as a judge for the South Texas College of Law advocacy program until he moved to Maine. Thomas received his political science and economics degrees from the University of Oklahoma but spent his younger years on the west coast where he had hoped to play professional baseball. Away from the office, Thomas leads a very active life with his wife Kimberly, two children and several pets spending their time hiking, biking, skiing, traveling, and fishing.
