Thomas Scott – Attorney 

Thomas Scott is a minority member of Basham & Scott, LLC concentrating his practice in insurance subrogation and rental car collision claims. Thomas became a Certified Subrogation Recovery Professional in 2004, the exam’s debut year. Prior to Basham & Scott, LLC, Thomas was a non-equity shareholder at Spain, Hastings, & Ward and worked for several other firms in Houston, TX focusing on commercial litigation, premises liability, toxic torts, and product liability.

Thomas graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from the University of Oklahoma and a Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law where he was the Vice President of The Environmental Law Society, received the dean’s list award, won many mock trial competitions, and was awarded “Outstanding Participant” in a national moot court competition held in Kentucky.  Thomas also volunteered as a judge for the South Texas College of Law advocacy program until he moved to Maine and now is a volunteer assistant coach for mock trial at Brunswick High School. Thomas spent his younger years as an athlete on the west coast where he had hoped to play professional baseball. Away from the office, Thomas leads a very active life with family and friends and several pets spending time hiking, biking, skiing, traveling, and fishing.
